The Wildflowers of Mann Project
The Wildflowers of Mann Project exists to promote and preserve native Manx wild flowers.
The Project operates across the Isle of Man providing advice, and a supply of locally grown native Manx plants and seed for landowners from farmers to gardeners.
To promote our message we also manage a showcase Wildflower Garden in St Johns and have produced a full colour hardback guide to the flora of the Isle of Man, titled Wild Flowers of Mann.
In November 2008 work started on our new Wildflower Nursery at Mullen-e-Cloie in St Johns. It will produce the seeds and plants needed to create new wild flower habitats, such as wetlands, woodlands and meadows, around the Island as well as growing some of the Island's most threatened species of wildflower to save them from extinction.
The Nursery is due to be up and running in 2009, and in full production a year later.
Over the next few years, the Project will be involved in a major project - surveying the Island for the Manx Flora Atlas. Voluteers are needed, from March 2009, full training will be given. Find out more here.

The Wildflowers of Mann Project is funded though the sale of seeds, plants and consultancy, and also by the Isle of Man Government (Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), Department of Tourism and Leisure (DoTL), and the Department of Transport (DoT)).
Management of the project is by a steering committee of politicians, government officers and NGO’s.
