Conserving Wild Flowers

Over 10% of the Island's nearly 700 species of native wildflower are specially protected by law because of their rare or vulnerable status.

Unfortunately the changes to the countryside over the past 60 years have made it difficult for many species, and many have gone extinct or will do so without action.

The Wildflowers of Mann Project aims to help a few of these species by propagating them in its nursery facilities and then transplanting the young plants into new wild areas where they can grow and thrive.

Priority species at the moment are the Isle of Man cabbage, cranberry and agrimony.
